Ingredients:

Making sausage rolls is a great way to use up leftover sausages or to create a tasty snack for any occasion. Here are the ingredients you'll need for this easy recipe:

  • 6 sausages (pork or chicken)
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: herbs and spices such as paprika or dried thyme

Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2: Prepare the Pastry

Roll out the puff pastry sheet to about 1/4 inch thickness on a lightly floured surface. Cut the sheet into 6 equal strips.

Step 3: Prepare the Sausages

Remove the sausage casings and divide each sausage into 3 equal parts. Roll each part into a small sausage shape and place it in the center of each pastry strip. Season with salt, pepper, and any optional herbs or spices you like.

Step 4: Roll the Sausages

Roll the pastry strips around the sausages, making sure to seal the edges with a bit of water or beaten egg. Cut each roll into 3 equal parts, and place them seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 5: Bake the Sausage Rolls

Brush the sausage rolls with beaten egg and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy. Serve warm or at room temperature.
