Introduction

Cabbage wraps are a delicious and healthy alternative to traditional wraps. They are easy to make and can be customized to your liking. In this recipe, we will be using cabbage leaves as a wrap and filling them with a savory ground beef mixture.

Ingredients

For the filling, you will need:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
For the cabbage wraps, you will need:
  • 1 head of cabbage
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. Begin by preparing the cabbage leaves. Remove the outer layers of the cabbage and discard. Cut the cabbage in half and remove the core. 2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the cabbage halves and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the leaves are tender. Drain the cabbage and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process. 3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until softened. 4. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as it cooks. 5. Add the paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper to the skillet and stir to combine. 6. Add the diced tomatoes to the skillet and stir to combine. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly. 7. Preheat the oven to 375°F. 8. To assemble the cabbage wraps, take a cabbage leaf and place a spoonful of the ground beef mixture in the center. Roll the cabbage leaf around the filling, tucking in the sides as you go. Repeat with the remaining cabbage leaves and filling. 9. Place the cabbage wraps in a baking dish and brush with olive oil. Season with salt and black pepper. 10. Bake the cabbage wraps for 15-20 minutes, or until heated through and the cabbage is slightly crispy. 11. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
