Introduction

Brandy snaps are a classic British dessert that are perfect for any occasion. These thin, crispy cookies are shaped into tubes and filled with whipped cream or other delicious fillings. They are simple to make and are sure to impress your guests.

Ingredients

To make brandy snaps, you will need: - 1/2 cup butter - 1/2 cup brown sugar - 1/4 cup corn syrup - 1/4 cup all-purpose flour - 1/4 cup brandy - 1/2 tsp ground ginger - 1/2 cup heavy cream - Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). 2. In a saucepan, melt the butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup together over medium heat. 3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the flour, brandy, and ginger until well combined. 4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 5. Using a teaspoon, drop small amounts of the mixture onto the parchment paper, leaving enough space between each one to allow for spreading. 6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown. 7. While the brandy snaps are still warm, use a spatula to carefully remove them from the parchment paper and roll them around the handle of a wooden spoon or other cylindrical object to form tubes. 8. Allow the brandy snaps to cool completely around the handle of the wooden spoon, then slide them off. 9. In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until it forms stiff peaks. 10. Fill the brandy snaps with the whipped cream and dust with powdered sugar.
