Lasagna Italian Recipe

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped

- 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
- 1 teaspoon salt

- 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 12 lasagna noodles
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. 2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside. 3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain off any excess fat. 4. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is tender. 5. Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, water, sugar, dried basil, fennel seeds, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir well. 6. Simmer the sauce for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. 7. In a bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, and ricotta cheese. 8. Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. 9. Place 3 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce. 10. Spread 1/3 of the cheese mixture over the noodles. 11. Repeat these layers two more times, ending with a layer of meat sauce. 12. Cover the baking dish with foil. 13. Bake for 25 minutes. 14. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. 15.
