Sticky Ginger Cake Recipe

- 225g dark muscovado sugar

- 225g black treacle
- 4 large eggs, beaten

- 325g self-raising flour
- 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda

Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 160°C (fan)/180°C/gas mark 4. Grease and line a 20cm square cake tin. 2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter, sugar, golden syrup, and black treacle over a low heat. Stir until everything is well combined. 3. Remove the pan from the heat and add the beaten eggs, stirring constantly to prevent the eggs from scrambling. 4. Add the milk to the pan and stir until everything is well combined. 5. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, bicarbonate of soda, ground ginger, and ground cinnamon. 6. Add the dry ingredients to the pan and stir until everything is well combined. 7. Pour the mixture into the prepared cake tin and bake for 1 hour 20 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the middle of the cake comes out clean. 8. Leave the cake to cool in the tin for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. 9.
