Terry's Chocolate Orange Cake Recipe

For the cake:- 225g self-raising flour
- 225g caster sugar
- 225g unsalted butter
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 200g unsalted butter
- 400g icing sugar
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder

Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas Mark 4. Grease and line two 8-inch cake tins. 2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. 3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, making sure to mix well after each addition. 4. Sift in the flour, baking powder, and cocoa powder. Fold together gently with a spatula. 5. Add in the vanilla extract, milk, and orange zest. Mix until everything is combined. 6. Split the mixture evenly between the two cake tins. 7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean. 8. Once the cakes are cooked, remove them from the oven and leave them to cool in their tins for 5 minutes. 9. After 5 minutes, turn the cakes out onto a wire rack to cool completely. 10. While the cakes are cooling, make the frosting. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the butter, icing sugar, and cocoa powder until smooth. 11. Add in the milk and orange zest, and beat again until everything is combined. 12. Cut the Terry's Chocolate Orange into small pieces. 13. Once the cakes are completely cool, spread a generous amount of frosting on top of one of the cakes. 14. Sprinkle the chopped up Terry's Chocolate Orange on top of the frosting. 15. Place the second cake on top of the first and press down gently. 16. Spread more frosting on top of the second cake, making sure to cover the top and sides. 17. Add more chopped up Terry's Chocolate Orange on top of the frosting, pressing them gently into the frosting. 18. Serve immediately, or store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.Nutrition
