Delicious Masoor Dal Recipe

- 1 tsp of mustard seeds

- Coriander leaves for garnishing
Instructions
The instructions to make masoor dal recipe are as follows:- Rinse the lentils thoroughly and soak them in water for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker, and add cumin and mustard seeds.
- Once the seeds start to splutter, add chopped onions and green chilies.
- Saute the onions until they turn golden brown.
- Add ginger and garlic paste, and saute for a minute.
- Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, and red chili powder.
- Saute the tomatoes until they turn soft and mushy.
- Drain the water from the lentils and add them to the pressure cooker.
- Add 3 cups of water and mix well.
- Add salt to taste and mix well.
- Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook on high flame for 3 whistles.
- Reduce the flame and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Turn off the flame and allow the pressure to release naturally.
- Once the pressure is released, open the lid and check the consistency of the dal.
- If the dal is too thick, add some water and mix well.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
