- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg, beaten
- Sesame seeds for topping (optional)
Instructions
Follow these steps to make the perfect burger buns:- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the warm milk, warm water, melted butter, and beaten egg.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix with a wooden spoon until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Form the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 8-10 equal pieces.
- Form each piece into a ball and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Press down on each ball to form a flat circle about 3-4 inches in diameter.
- Cover the baking sheet with a kitchen towel and let the buns rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Brush the tops of the buns with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds on top (optional).
