Instructions

1. Drain the soaked chickpeas and rinse them thoroughly with water. 2. In a pressure cooker, add the chickpeas, salt, and enough water to cover the chickpeas. Cook the chickpeas for 4-5 whistles or until they are soft and tender. 3. In a pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter. 4. Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown. 5. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Sauté for 1-2 minutes. 6. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and mushy. 7. Add coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala powder. Mix well. 8. Add the cooked chickpeas along with the water and mix well. 9. Cover the pan and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes or until the gravy thickens. 10. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan.
