Delicious Pork Leg Recipe

Pork leg is a versatile and delicious cut of meat that can be prepared in many ways. It's perfect for a family dinner, a special occasion, or a holiday meal. This recipe is easy to follow and will result in tender and flavorful pork leg.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (5-pound) bone-in pork leg
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups red wine
  • 4 sprigs of rosemary
  • 4 sprigs of thyme
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 325°F.

2. In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

3. Rub the spice mixture all over the pork leg, making sure to coat it evenly.

4. In a large roasting pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.

5. Add the pork leg and sear on all sides until browned, about 10 minutes.

6. Remove the pork leg from the pan and set it aside.

7. Add chicken broth and red wine to the roasting pan, stirring to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

8. Add rosemary, thyme, and bay leaves to the pan.

9. Place the pork leg back in the pan, fat side up.

10. Cover the pan with foil and bake for 3 to 4 hours, or until the pork leg is tender and falls off the bone.

11. Remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 425°F.

12. Baste the pork leg with the pan juices and return it to the oven, uncovered, for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the top is browned and crispy.

13. Remove the pork leg from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
